The Children's Rain Dance The rain drips and pools on the ground The earth before was so dry Until the rain poured from the sky.
The rain puddles supply the children with a place to dance
So they interlude in a stance.
The chalky outline over which they play, Has muddled into a dark color of grey. The chalky mess serves not a use, Instead the band strings up a chorus. The regiment is led by altos, With their umbrellas held high and aloof. The tenors supply the band with bass They provide the tone structure and a roof. The ladies follow in pursuit Making up the soprano section and their two'ts A throng of singing children parade throughout downtown. Mother nature is changing her seasonal gown. |
